Daddy Mode: A Dramedy on Black Fatherhood

Our series follows Tunde, a widower, and his sharp-witted 7-year-old son as they dive headfirst into the comedic chaos of finding community and redefining their lives in a new city.

RSVP for Daddy Mode Live Table Read

About the Show

Join us for a special evening at the Rockwell Theatre for a live table-read of "Daddy Mode," an upcoming dramedy about fatherhood. This event features a live performance of select scenes from our independently produced half-hour TV pilot, which is set to be filmed in Boston this fall.

"Daddy Mode" explores the life of a man who is starting over—finding love, healing, and making new friends while raising his lively son. It aims to break stereotypes and provide meaningful representation for fathers, reflecting the shared experiences of men from diverse backgrounds.

Inspired by the transformative journey of Issa Rae’s "Awkward Black Girl," which evolved into the acclaimed series "Insecure," our vision for "Daddy Mode" is to first launch as a six-part web series, with the dual aims of attracting buyers—such as streaming services, production companies, and studios—and leveraging success to fundraise for a fully independent TV series.

Why You Should Attend

Your support for the creative arts and film community in Boston is invaluable, and we are excited to share this innovative project with you. This event isn't just a showcase of a wonderful script and amazing local talent; it's also a great opportunity to enjoy a fun night out, meet new people, and mingle with friends.

Join us in helping to bring this project to life, as we aim to secure funding and gather local support to produce "Daddy Mode."

We hope to see you there for an evening of creativity and community!
